When is a graph a tree? Write a program that will read from a file specified on the command line and determine from the graph's adjacency matrix whether or not it is a tree, Example: Ja.out graph.txt Output: The graph is a tree! Contents of graph.txt will be something like this: 5 01000 10111 01000 01000 01000

Expert Solution
Step 1

The main difference between a graph and a tree is that the tree doesn't have any cycle in it whereas a graph as cycle. A tree has all it's node connected i.e. all nodes can be traversed from any node i.e. total number of edges to be n-1 where n is the number of vertices/nodes

Considering adjacency matrix of undirected graph.

To check whether the graph is tree or not, calculating number of edges and checking whether the whole graph can be visited from single node or not.

Below is the program implementation in C language as no programming language was mentioned in the question.
