The colonists who remained loyal to Great Britain during the American Revolution were known as the loyalists. Whereas the colonists who favored independence were known as the patriots. There was also another group known as neutrals just because they did not support any of the sides. The loyalists and the patriots had several differences in their viewpoints, which are as given below.
