Savana Redding attended Safford Middle School and was in the eighth grade. She was searched by school officials when another student reported that she had ibuprofen in her possession, which is against school regulation. After failing to locate any medications in Redding's possessions, the Assistant Principal asked two female school officials to strip-search him.
During the search, no pills were discovered. Savana then filed a lawsuit in the District Court for the District of Arizona. It was against the school district and the school administrators involved in the search.
