- They can’t learn new things (take time to train). Team members that are attempting to teach the elderly member may become irritated at their efforts. The organization can focus on the elderly members pre-existing skillset rather than attempting to teach them new material.
- They are less productive and have lower performance (can be a burden on the group). Some younger individuals may find it difficult working with the elderly members because they aren’t as much help (i.e slower, forgetful). The organization can focus on giving the elderly employees smaller tasks that are easier to complete. "
