What knowledge of Judaism do you have that is some value to you?

Expert Solution
Step 1

Judaism's beginnings go back more than 3500 years. This religion has its origins in Canaan, which was in the ancient Near East (which today constitutes Israel and the Palestinian territories). The beliefs and customs of the group known as "Israel" gave rise to Judaism. It wasn't until the first century CE that what is now known as classical or rabbinical Judaism began to take shape.

The covenant that God established with Abraham and his ancestors, according to which God would make them a holy nation and provide them a place, is the source of Judaism. Because of this shared Abrahamic origin, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are sometimes referred to as Abrahamic faiths. In other words, they all assert that they are sprung from ancient Israelites who followed their customs and revered the "God of Abraham." The patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as well as the prophet Moses, who received the Torah from God at Mount Sinai, are the main characters of Israelite civilization.
