two sources are out of phase, give the phase difference between the two sources. Explain. What is the source separation, d, in terms of the wavelength λ? Explain your reasoning.
Compton effect
The incoming photons' energy must be in the range of an X-ray frequency to generate the Compton effect. The electron does not lose enough energy that reduces the wavelength of scattered photons towards the visible spectrum. As a result, with visible lights, the Compton effect is missing.
Recoil Velocity
The amount of backward thrust or force experienced by a person when he/she shoots a gun in the forward direction is called recoil velocity. This phenomenon always follows the law of conservation of linear momentum.
The diagram below shows all the antinodal lines (dashed) and nodal lines (solid) due to two-point sources tapping a water surface (the two dots in the middle of the circle are the two-point sources). The sources are separated by an unknown distance d. The sources lie along a horizontal line.
Are the two sources in phase or out of phase? Explain how you can tell from the diagram. If the two sources are out of phase, give the phase difference between the two sources. Explain.
What is the source separation, d, in terms of the wavelength λ? Explain your reasoning.
