Introduction- 

  • Chiral carbon- A chiral carbon is a carbon center which have four different type of atoms  or groups at that carbon center .  
  • Optically active compound - Compound which have optical rotation and do not shows plane of symmetry , center of symmetry and axis of symmetry called optically active compound . Generally chiral center having compound called optical active compound but it's not a mandatory condition. 
  • Meso compound- Meso compound is a non-optically active member of a set of stereoisomers, at least two of which are optically active. 
  • Diastereomers- Compound which have non - identical or non mirror image stereoisomers.
