PM Bulk HTS Z X Based on frozen image model the magnetic potential of the permanent magnet and its images in the superconductor can be obtained from U = m₁.m, 3(m₁.r)(m₂.r) 3 5
Figure shows the schematic representation of the permanent magnet levitated above the bulk HTS. The permanent magnets are assumed to be dipole having the polarization along the horizontal direction and magnitude of dipole moments is m = 10 A.m2. Also assume the dipole is represented by a point located in z above the superconductor. Assume that the PM configuration is field cooled at h = 5 mm, a) determine vertical force between PM-HTS system as a function of the distance between the PM and the surface of the HTS. b) Determine the vertical force on PM-HTS system as a function of lateral displacement for the cooling height h = 5 mm. c) Determine the guidance force (lateral force) on PM-HTS system as a function of lateral displacement for a fixed cooling height (h = 5mm). Note that frozen interaction potential is double the diamagnetic one |
