Toyota Reports September Sales GEORGETOWN, KENTUCKY, (October 1, 2010) — Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today reported September sales of 147,162 units. With equal selling days in September 2009 and September 2010, sales were up 16.8 percent over the year-ago month on a daily selling rate and unadjusted raw volume basis. Toyota Division recorded sales of 130,214 vehicles, an increase of 20.5 percent over the year-ago month. Lexus reported sales of 16,948 units for the month, down 5.5 percent from September 2009. Toyota Division passenger cars recorded sales of 75,670 units, an increase of 8.5 percent over last September. Toyota sales were led by Camry and Camry Hybrid, which posted combined monthly sales of 30,769 units, up 19.5 percent from September 2009. Light truck sales were led by the RAV4 compact SUV, which recorded monthly sales of 14,685 units, up 41.2 percent over September 2009. Highlander and Highlander Hybrid posted combined sales of 7,824 units for the month, up 50.0 percent over the year-ago month. 4Runner posted sales of 3,577 units for the month. The Tundra full-size pickup recorded sales of 6,923 units, up 9.7 percent over the same period last year. The Tacoma mid-size pickup posted sales of 8,874 units for the month, up 18.1 percent over September 2009. The Sienna minivan reported sales of 9,920, up 54.0 percent over last September. Scion posted September sales of 3,562 units. The xB urban utility vehicle led the way with sales of 1,687 units, up 9.6 percent over last September. The tC sports coupe posted September sales of 981 units. The xD reported sales of 894 units for the month. Lexus Division:- Lexus reported passenger car sales of 8,135 units, down 8.9 percent from the year-ago month. Lexus passenger car sales were led by the ES entry luxury sedan which posted sales of 3,697 units. The IS line-up reported combined sales of 2,447 units. Lexus light trucks recorded sales of 8,813 units, down 2.2 percent from last September. Lexus Division sales were led by the RX 350 and RX 450h, which reported combined September sales of 7,420 units. With September sales of 1,054 units, GX mid-size luxury utility vehicle posted a gain of 122.8 percent over the same period last year. TMS Hybrids:- TMS posted September sales of 14,871 hybrid vehicles, up 2.0 percent over the year-ago month. Toyota Division posted sales of 13,021 hybrids for the month. Lexus Division reported sales of 1,850 hybrids in September there were 25 selling days in September 2009 and 2010.
