Product is a vital element of the marketing mix which deals with producing goods that will satisfy the needs and wants of the customers. It is the offering produced by the firm in order to sell it to the consumers and earn a profit.
Product has 3 levels:
- Core product-It is not a tangible physical product but it is the basic benefit that you get from using the product. For example, a car has the basic feature or benefit of providing convenience.
- Actual product-It is the actual tangible physical product that is used like for a car you can test drive, buy and use it.
- Augmented product-It is the intangible part of the product which provides additional benefits to the users like in the case of the car the additional benefit will be after-sales service.
