Chromosomes are the thread-like structures that consists of DNA in tightly packed manner within the nucleus of the cells. These  helical structures are wrapped around the histone proteins and forms tight loop known as nucleosomes. These nucleosomes then coil and gets stacked together in order to form chromatin.
