Crusades are known to be the religious wars that were either initiated, or supported, and sometimes were led by the Latin churches during the Medieval period. There were a total of eight crusades that took place in medieval history. Although the first crusade was led to the Holy Land by a military expedition starting from the 11th to the 13th century. These wars mostly occurred between the Christians and the Muslims to secure their holy sites that were considered to be sacred by both the religion.
