Describe how TWO (2) of the production methods that the Europeans introduced to the Caribbean led to the oppression of the local population.
Spaniards were the first to colonize the Caribbean. They had come in search of gold and silver but didn't find any. From the 17th century onwards, England and France joined Spain in the colonization of the Caribbean. The English tried growing tobacco but failed. Then, they tried a non-native crop, sugarcane that grew well in the Caribbean and changed the course of history.
