One of such enzymes is salivary amylase which acts on starch and breaks it down. It also contains lingual lipase, that breaks down fats. The cells of salivary gland secret fluid that contains water, electrolytes, mucus and enzymes. 2 stomach The stomach secretes water, electrolytes, hydrochloric acid(Hcl), and glycoproteins, including mucin, intrinsic factor, and enzymes. The main secretion of stomach is the gastric juice that contains the mixture of mucus, hydrochloric acid and digestive enzyme which help in the process of digestion. Amylase, protease and lipase are some of the enzymes secreted by the stomach. 3 Pancreas Pancreatic juice is the liquid secreted by the pancreas that contains a variety of enzymes, as trypsinogen, chymotrypsinogen, elastase, carboxypeptidase, pancreatic lipase, nucleases, amylase etc. 4 Liver The liver usually secretes bile, which is a digestive fluid. It metabolizes proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. It also stores glycogen, vitamins, and other substances. It also helps in synthesis of blood-clotting factors. 5 Small intestine Small intestine The Exocrine cells of the small intestine secrete mucus, peptidase, sucrase, maltase, lactase, lipase, and enterokinase. Endocrine cells of the small intestine secrete cholecystokinin and secretin.
