Question

Fill out the attached form on the appliances of any home.   use one color to enter the information found on the appliance and another color to enter the number you solved for.

  1.  find the amps or the watts, which will go into the second and third columns.
    • If you found the amps and no watts, then you will multiply the volts times the amps to acquire the watts.
    • If you find the watts and no amps then you will divide the watts by the volts to get the amps.
    • Use different color inks or highlighters to enter the information found on the appliance and another color to enter the number you solved for.
    •  use this formula I = P/E

3. After filling in the information  check and see you will add up the amps and watts based on voltage types;

    • 115 volts - sum of all amps and watts of that voltage type
    • 110 volts - sum of all amps and watts of that voltage type
    • 120 volts - sum of all amps and watts of that voltage type
    • 240 volts - etc.

4. You divide the sum total of watts by the sum total of amps for each voltage type.

5. If you get the voltage used for the appliances then your work is correct.
