Step 2 : Solution A

Given that -

25 mL of 3 M HCl

Let's find the no of moles of HCl in this volume using formula - 

Mole = Molarity * Volume (L)

Mole of HCl = 3.0 * 0.025 

Mole of HCl = 0.075 mol

According to above balanced reaction, for 2 mole of HCl, one mole of Mg reacts. thus,

Here, mole of Mg reacting = 0.0752 = 0.0375 Mol

Now, Mass of Mg can be given as -

Mass of Mg = Mole * Molar mass

Mass of Mg = 0.0375 * 24.31 g

Mass of Mg = 0.9116 g
