Step 1

Here, two different inoculated plates with selected antibiotics are given.

First plate is inoculated with E. coli and the second plate is inoculated with S. aureus. In both the plates, left hand side is tetracycline disc and right hand side is ampicillin disc. After the incubation period, in response to the antibiotics, the organisms showed area of resistance (Zone of inhibition). This can be measured by a meter scale and the results can be interpreted.
