Introduction
R. H. Whittaker’s classification system divides organisms into five major groups. These groups are designated KIngdoms. The five kingdoms comprise organisms ranging from simple to highly complex.
The Kingdom Monera is considered the most primitive group. It is constituted by single-celled microorganisms. The minute and tiny creatures that are not observed by unaided eyes are the microorganisms. The bacteria are the prime members of this Kingdom. The bacteria inhabit almost every place in the biosphere. The tiny organism could be harmful or beneficial to mankind. Gram-positive and Gram-negative are two major divisions of bacteria.
These microbes exhibit great diversity. These could occur in different shapes like spherical, rod-like, or spiral.
Pseudomonas spp, Bacillus spp, and Chlorochetes spp are a few examples of members of Kingdom Monera.
