Global Village: A tourist attraction
Global Village is the region’s leading family outdoor cultural and entertainment destination and one of Dubai’s most exciting and unique annual tourism and cultural destination. The theme park offers a vast selection of multicultural entertainment and retail options.
Launched in 1997, Global Village made its entrance on the Creek Side opposite Dubai Municipality, and later moved to Oud Metha and then Dubai Festival City, until it found a permanent home on the outskirts of Dubai Land in 2005. Over the past 17 years, Global Village has been providing cultural entertainment along with an international shopping experience to millions of visitors.
From hosting 18 country pavilions in 1997, Global Village has expanded over the years to now include over 37 pavilions, with added entertainment and culinary attractions with every season. Apart from this breathtaking live performances, mouth-watering cuisine, authentic handicrafts and merchandise as well as thrilling rides, firework displays and much more.
Operational Season 2013/ 2014: Global Village’s 18th season started from 5th October 2013 and finished on 1st March 2014. The season lasted for 148 days.
Timings of the Park: Global Village operates 7 days a week and opens its gates to visitors from Saturday to Wednesday from 4:00 pm-12:00 am and opens until 1:00 am on Thursday, Friday, and public holidays. Monday is Family Day [except public holidays].
Number of Countries Pavilions, Restaurants and Retail Shops: Global Village hosted 37 pavilions during its 17th season, representing more than 65 world countries.
Number of Restaurants: 30 restaurants serving various international cuisines.
Number of Retail Shops: More than 200 shops showcasing various products.
Participant Pavilions (Countries): Egypt, Tunisia, KSA, Qatar, Spain, Africa, UAE, Pakistan, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Morocco, Italy (new), Afghanistan, Bahrain, Jordan, India, China, Germany/UK/France (new), Yemen, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore, Kuwait, Oman, Vietnam, Palestine, Thailand, Iran, Khalifa Foundation, and Forsaty
Number of Visitors: Global Village received over 5 million visitors during 2013/ 2014 season.
Parking Space: The parking area at Global Village was designed to host more than 17,000 cars with additional overflow parking areas used during peak times. Free parking vehicles are operated round the clock during the operating hours to transport visitors to and from the overflow parking areas.
World Culture Stage: World Culture Stage at Global Village hosts a large number of activities, cultural shows and concerts. Many famous singers were featured on stage during weekends or special festivals and events that rocked the audiences.
Funfair Ground: Situated between Gate (1) and Gate (2), the funfair ground has a large number of skill games and thrill rides aimed at families and thrill seekers.
Kid’s Play Area and Express Train: Children’s play area is situated near World Culture Stage, and includes slides, swings and a number of games. A step away is the Express Train station which takes the children on a tour around the park.
Entry Tickets: The price of Global Village entry ticket per person is AED 15. Meanwhile, entry is free for children below the age of 3, guests with special needs and their companion, as well as the elderly.

Global Village provides a number of services at the entry gates and around the park such as, baby karts, trolleys, wheel chairs for special needs and the elderly, porters, car wash and valet parking
Guest Services: There are many services and departments designed to cater to visitors’ needs within Global Village including money exchange (al ansari exchange), 10 atm machines (adib), lost & found office, 3 mother’s rooms, pa announcements, special needs services, chairs, and toilets, masjids, free and paid toilets and kids play area.
