League of Nations was an international organization set up by President Woodrow Wilson after the conclusion of WWI intending to maintain a state of peace after such a destructive war. President Wilson intended for the small nation to become a member, promising to protect their territorial interests and help them in the event of any conflict. Although founded in 1920, the organization was in effect until 1946. Although the United States was its key framer, it never joined the alliance and provided foreign aid.
