A total of 895 hospital admissions in Alhambra Medical Clinic and Hospital from July 2018-August 2019 constituted of 103 patients diagnosed with Entamoeba histolytica infection. Male = 58, Female = 45. The diagnosis was mainly based on microscopic examination using direct fecal smear method. Acute gastroenteritis was predominantly the initial diagnosis attributed to Entamoeba histolytica infection with 87 patients (48 male, 39 female) infected.
