Autonomic nervous system is a part of peripheral nervous system which is responsible to control smooth muscles like vital organs such as lungs, liver, kidney, glands, heart etc. Basically all those organs that functions involuntarily which are not in our control . At the time stress the functions gets disrupted which disturbs the balance of the body . Autonomic nervous system is further divided into two 1. Sympathetic nervous system and 2. Parasympathetic nervous system. At the time of stress and fight mode the sympathetic nerves gets activated and increase heart rate , blood pressure, stomach contraction , etc disturbing body's homeostasis whereas when the parasympathetic nerves get activated it brings back the body in state of calm and digest.
