PREJUDICE Prejudice is a negative outlook on other cultural groups that are not their own. Many people think racism and prejudice are the same when in fact they aren’t both have similar meanings but different definitions. There are also other kinds of prejudice that’s normalized but not really talked about as much, for example Modern Prejudice, self regulation of prejudice and Frusturation aggression displacement. 20XX Pitch deck title 4
DIFFERENT TYPES OF PREJUDICE Modern Prejudice – Stereotyping, Avoidance and selective perception based of the color of skin, look, or defiency. ( Diller, 2018 ) Self- Regulation of prejudice – When a low vibrant individual has a negative perception of a member from a specific group ( Diller, 2018) Frustration aggression displacement hypothesis- Someone who holds in their frustration and often tend to blow up on someone who had nothing to do with their frustrations. ( Diller, 2018) 20XX Pitch deck title 5
RACISM Racism is a “Systematic subordinate of members of targeted racial groups who have relatively little social power by the members of the agent racial group who have more social power.,” (Wijeyesinge, Griffin, and Love, 1997). Racism has been a big issue in America and it only not causes discrimination but it doesn’t make it easy for human service workers to do their jobs due to past stereotypcal behavior. As a Human service worker their should always be a respect and understanding for individuals who are from different racial groups to show that we are not here to hurt but we are here to better help and lead our clients into a more successful life. 20XX Pitch deck title 6

Racism, privilege and prejudice all have an impact on how human service workers provide services in multicultural environments. For example if a service worker has a personal issue with a certain group of people they aren’t going to give them the full services they deserve as a client. A person who has issues with another race might use their power to give more support that other groups aren’t available to. 20XX Pitch deck title 10
