1 Self Observation Megan Shields Indiana Wesleyan University HMSR-220-01C April 24, 2021
2 Abstract While reading chapters one through three of our course textbook, I discovered a lot about myself. The first thing that drew my attention was that I had never considered how multicultural differences can affect client meetings. As human service professionals, we must comprehend the significance of meaning and distinguish between them. Understanding cultural differences can impact our client's relationship and their likelihood of returning. We may deal with customers who hold opposing views or opinions to our own, putting our own aside to focus on the greater picture of assisting them. Keywords: Ethical standards, Multicultural differences, Values of Client communication
3 Self-Observation The most significant points that stood out to me in this chapter are understanding the value of allowing the Client to talk, paying close attention, and not interrupting them while they are speaking. This puts the ball in the Client's hands and court, making them more comfortable and receptive to discussing the challenges they confront. We develop confidence between ourselves and the Client by listening carefully and without interrupting them while they are speaking, as interrupting them may make them feel inconsequential or that no one bothers to listen. While researching multicultural challenges I discovered it is one of the most significant issues that those who choose this line of employment would encounter. Multicultural Issues Because the human race has so many various cultures, perspectives, worldviews, and societies, we should all bring more light on this issue. Because, in reality, knowing how to communicate with and assist individuals from other countries, as well as stretching out your hand farther out to help a Client stand up, is one approach to assure job stability. Instead, we should widen our horizons by learning languages from various countries in order to help people who are in desperate need but have no one who can understand them. We need to expand our understanding of their languages and cultures in order to reach out to individuals who need us and our assistance. We give back to the community and individuals who live there by aiding them with the purpose of assisting them. We assist them by assisting them in developing realistic objectives, life skills, and strategic methods to overcome problems. Ethical Standards Ethical standards are norms established to define human services as a professional standard, such as counseling. This means it defines things being done as following professional

You will be expected to use subheadings to organize the content of your written assignments. Remember to review your rubrics and assignment instructions. Conclusion All conclusions have an APA 7 level 1 subheading. Your conclusion should be concise and formal. Never write creatively or as if you are addressing the general public or attempting to shape an agenda. Writing in our profession is used for scientific purposes. This means that if your notes and writing are used in a court, the words can concisely and clearly be interpreted. Remember that APA paragraphs are between five to eight sentences in length before starting a new paragraph. It is rarely necessary to use large paragraphs. It is more important to organize your work and write concisely. Less can certainly be more.
