Class: ISSC351 Professor: Kenneth Williams Week 2 Date:1/17/21 Assignment 2
Examine and summarize your community, state or country's rules for search and seizure of criminal evidence. What concerns to you have after reading them? Initially, I would like to say that I live in the state of Florida. There are different rules with each containing their specific function. The fourth amendment is every US citizen right and once there is probable cause by law enforcement, then you could be searched. Before I proceeded with this research paper, I decided to focus on the types of evidence that could arise electronically. Come to find out there are multiple different types such as hard drive data, emails, social media posted, and pretty much everything is becoming digitized. This is making it a lot more complicated to obtain a warrant. This has been brought to light resent light with the attack on the white house multiple photos were taken and posted online. Identify those involved through social media post that the made. It still holds true that if law informant is looking for evidence of drug trafficking and find information on identity theft that they would need another warrant. After reading up on this I found there must always be a search warrant issued based off of what type of crime law enforcement is looking for. Especially when they need access to your computer.
