PEDG 5370 Public School Curriculum Week 4 Application, Part 1 of 2: Unpacking the Learning Standard & Part 2 of 2: Evaluation & Improvement Plan The length should be about several sentences to a paragraph for each element. 1.1 State Standard (e.g., TEKS) Organisms and environments. The student knows that living organisms have basic needs that must be met through interactions within their environment. 1.2 Big Ideas The Big Idea is so learn how Living Orgainsim play a role in the affairs such as  Why are living organism important  Why to our environment help 2.2. Your Evaluation of this Part the teaches and students will evaluate the need and important of living things and how they work together for the betterment of the environment. Students will get a better understand of how the world works by seeing what is being produce around us and how it works hand by hand. From plants and animals and food. We will be able to explain, demonstrate and create many examples to better understand the need for living orgainsm. 1.3 Enduring Understandings This topic is essential so students can see how the world produces what we need to survive. Students will be able to develop and deepen understanding, describe structures, and connect relationships by how we live, sleep, and the clothes we wear with our environment. What we may see is the after-product. However, to see how it is breaking down from a living thing in our environment to how people survive. PEDG 5370 Public School Curriculum as it focuses on the TEKS of the lesson. 2.3 Your Evaluation of this Part I would evaluate it by framing the tasks to the Big Idea that gives meaning to the lesson's essential questions. I would unpack the study to see where the misconceptions may be for the students and turn those areas of weakness into strengths. Give questions in the lessons and activities to help the students understand more. Provide assessments from do now (warm-ups), Exit tickets (daily reviews), and Unit Exams to see how much information the students have gathered. 1.4 Essential Questions • how physical characteristics of environments, including the amount of rainfall, support plants and animals within an ecosystem • What is a food chain and how animals depend on living things • Describe the structure of an organism What are the functions and there interactions with each other 2.4 Your Evaluation of this Part I would evaluate this by setting the standard as well as the objective of the day to focus on the questions. This allows the students, as well as the teacher, to stay focused on the lesson that is given. Provide checkpoints within the class to ensure the students are on task in learning. 1.5 Knowledge and Skills Identify environmental factors, including temperature and precipitation, that affect growth and behavior, such as migration, hibernation, and dormancy of living things; and. Students will conduct indoor and outdoor investigations using critical thinking and problem-solving to contribute to focusing on the main idea of the lesson. 1.6 Performance Assessment & Evaluation Method Exit Tickets Do Nows District Assessment 2.6 Your evaluation of this Part This method will allow students and teachers to see what they have learned in the lessons.
