3306 01 Video reflection 1. Describe how the educator is going to use Momentary Time Sampling. Be detailed in your response. An educator is going to use Momentary Time Sampling to monitor a student's behavior as well as when the behavior most likely occurs. The form allows for multiple students to be documented. The columns on the form are labeled to include alone, with peers, with group, observer, active activities, and a box at the end to write the activity the student was observed doing. 2. Discuss how the educator's data collection system address sources of bias that were discussed in the chapter?  The chapter stated interval recording is the least exact but the video shows that momentary time sampling is helpful and it also happens to be a variation of interval recording and seems to work well. The biases are addressed by stating how helpful momentary time sampling is compared to the book stating it’s the least helpful. The book also states, “The teacher must keep an eye on a student or students,” but during the video, the teacher stated she observes the student's actions once the timer stops. (P.82) “In terms of making the closest representation of the actual occurrence of the behavior, event recording is the most accurate, time sampling is next, and interval recording is the least exact P.75 3. In your opinion, how practical is the data collection method described? Defend your response.
I believe the data collection method is very practical because it’s easy to observe, easy to time, and can rate the students all at the same time using the momentary time sampling form due to the different columns on the form allowing for different categories to be charted as their observed.
