Make sure your answer incorporates and engages ideas, concepts and examples from the readings, lectures/tutorials and films to develop a response that demonstrates your knowledge and application of course content. Students are asked to only use course content for their response. The response to the question is valued at 20 marks. The test is due on Monday, December 11, 2023. Please submit your test on our course module via Turnitin. With the exception for direct quotes and phrasing from our course content, write your answer in your own words. Do not share wording with any of your classmates as Turnitin will flag it as overlap and/or similarity and in consequence, you may risk academic dishonesty. 1) Discuss the role of colonialism and the Indian Act for Aboriginal people. Your response should address how inequality is experienced by Aboriginal people in both urban areas and reserves. In your response, be sure to explore strategies of resistance (from the standpoint of Aboriginal people). 2) Compare and contrast life in urban and rural spaces. Discuss how inequality manifests in both settings. Your response should also account for divergent conceptions of history and cultural memory. In particular, how is cultural memory expressed/manifested and contested in urban and rural spaces?
