What do you think are some of the benefits/challenges in working with families? To receive full credit, you will need to post one substantial post. Each discussion post should be a minimum of 250 words or one page. Provide two substantial responses to your classmate’s posts. These responses should also be substantial and provide thoughtful reflection. Your initial discussion post should be posted by Wednesday and your two responses due by Sunday. I can apply these do's and don'ts as a social worker to help me to build a trustworthy, therapeutic alliance with the my client and their family by supporting their needs without judgment. It would allow me the Do's and Don'ts when working with my clients and their families as well as help me to maintain my anxiety when dealing with the families. These do's and don'ts allows me a checklist on how to engage my client and their families. These do's and don'ts helps the social worker to create a therapeutic alliance which in turn will help to create a safe space for the family as well as help to break down barriers when assisting your client and their families by helping them to engage in the therapy. I feel that helping the social worker to be sure to look at everything from the client and their families race, gender, socioeconomic status, religious, and their support systems will help the social worker to get a better understanding of the family and their culture. Theses do's and don'ts also helps a social worker to be sure to do a cultural assessment of the client and their families. What do you think are some of the benefits/challenges in working with families? I feel that the benefits of the checklist of the do's and don'ts helps the social worker be aware of what works such as not being
judgmental to the client and their situations. Also not joining the chaos of the family. I think this is a great one. It helps the social to start the process of providing therapy to families as well as individuals. It helps with starting with assessing the client and their family by gathering all the necessary information need to help the family. Also predetermining mental health diagnoses and then creating goals to help your client and their family. The do's and don'ts help the social worker to know how to develop strategic treatment plans to help their clients and the clients families effectively.
