Social Worker: Hello, my name is Akhura Scott. I am a social work intern, and I will be assisting you today. Please make yourself comfortable. After reviewing the intake form you filled out, I learned that you are undergoing various difficulties in your family and work. Am I correct? Sara: yes. Social worker: can you share more about yourself? Sara: I am a twenty-six-year-old working mother of three kids who currently rely on child support to cater to the need of the kids. I have not received the child support payments, and I am at risk of losing my job. Social Worker: Okay. First, I will share some information on our agency to determine which services may offer you the support you seek. To determine the best services for you, I will ask you some questions before making any recommendations. Our agency offers various services, such as educational classes, parenting tips, workshops, and support groups. Sara: What support groups do you offer? Social worker: We offer various support groups for parents to empower them and help them build better parenting skills. We also offer support groups for victims of domestic violence. Sara: What about the educational classes? Social worker: We offer life skills, parenting classes and classes on building healthy relationships. Sara: how can I sign up for the services I am interested in? Social worker: You can sign up for the services by filling in our application form. The agency will then make an appointment for you to meet with a social worker, where you will talk about your needs and determine the services that could be the most helpful for you. Sara: Thank you for the information. I will consider signing up for some of those services.
