Viruet Gonzalez 1 Najeylla Viruet Gonzalez Prof. Steven His-100 July 3,2021 1-4 Short Response: Historical Bias 1) What do you believe to be the major distinctions between the two’s personal assumptions, beliefs, and values? I believe that both authors have different beliefs, personal assumptions, and values. Howard Zinn is more socialist; he thinks that the government or the police show more prejudice toward the minorities. He believes that people should be treated equally not different because of their gender, religion, or skin color. In retrospect Larry Schweikart is more conservative that believes that having a limited government and by having free trade would make the United States more prosperous and the economy would be healthy. 2) What do you believe to be the major distinctions in their interpretations of history? The author Howard Zinn seemed to be more open-minded about the things that affect his life, which seems to be a big difference about how he talks about history. In his article he wrote about his thoughts and life experiences on how the United States could do better. In comparison the author Larry Schweikart talked about his opinions and his feelings. 3) Do you notice any biases? If so, what are they? I do believe that Larry Schweikart is very biased because he does not try to hide the facts he tells the facts by ordinary people, which he states it is the people’s history. He thinks that records of ordinary Americans are sifted through the eyes of the high-
