Instructions
The purpose of this assignment is to deepen your learning from teaching
or engaging in the material outside of class.
This write-up is not
meant to be a regurgitation of the material to the teacher or solely a summary of your conversation about this course. Responses must show thought, reflection, pondering and depth with college-level writing skills. 1.
Provide a simple statement answering who you shared with.
My daughter
2.
In a brief paragraph, identify the questions or insights from your personal study that informed your thinking as you prepared for your discussion. Ordinances and covenant are important part of our salvation and by receiving ordinances we access the power of God which help us face worldly challenges and make us stronger to fight against evil and wickedness. I thought about my own ordinances and covenants and how I am staying on the covenant path. Jesus Christ invites all of us to walk on the path, but it is on us what path we want to walk on. 3.
In 1-2 paragraph(s), write about what you learned as a result of this conversation. What was this conversation about? What direct lines or quotes from our reading material or your research were you referencing or thinking about as you had this intentional conversation? 4.
We talked about our ordinances and covenant and how we can stay on the path that Lord has shown us. My daughter shared her personal feelings about her baptismal ordinance covenant. She said, “it is very sacred and personal to me, and it reminds me to how special and sacred my baptismal ordinance is. I feel my Savior’s love and mercy for me to provide me the opportunity to be part of his love.” I felt the power of God in her conversation that his light shines through our action when we let it shine. 4.
In 1-2 paragraph(s), write about what you learned as a result of this conversation. Answer the following questions: o
What deepened connections and insights did you feel because of this conversation?
o
What did you agree/disagree with in your discussions? How did you handle this? o
Did anything discussed change your thinking? If so, what and how? o
How will you build on this knowledge to strengthen your family (now and/or in the future)?
o
What do you feel inspired to do now that you have read the material and engaged in this conversation?
We both had a great time talking about our spiritual insights, because we are so busy in our own work and other responsibilities that often we don’t have enough one-on-
one time. We felt Savior’s love for us and our love for each other while we were discussing our ordinances. We agree that God gave us the commandments so we can become better every day to go to his presence. The Lord’s promised blessings through ordinances and covenants require our actions that focus on connecting us with Him, because both are exercises and spiritual practices that improve our potential capacity. There are many people who find it difficult to balance their spiritual and social life, but many see them as tools for spiritual growth.
I think when we walk on God’s way, we deeply understand his suffering, his pain, for
our sins and weaknesses. We feel his love and binding through ordinances and covenants and do our best to live righteously and in harmony.
Family is so important, and establishing a family in a righteous pattern would set an example for my children. My righteous living strengthens my family because it is all about what you say you do in your actions also. Scripture study and daily prayers and serving my family and those who need my help, attending church meetings especially
sacrament meetings bless me and my family. If I am committed to righteous patterns,
I enable to access the blessing power of God that help me develop the foundation that strengthen my family. We are an example to our children, and they follow our good and bad examples. So, I need to be more cheerful, helpful, and considerate to strengthen my relationship to my family and with my brothers and sisters to fulfill my
more closely my covenant path. Reference(s) used:
