Civic & Global Engagement/Diversity/Biblical Worldview Reflection I would define a biblical worldview as believing that everything circles back to believing that God is the foundation of life and he has created everything in his vision. Having a foundation of God as their biblical worldview allows students to use their values and religious beliefs to help guide them through trials and triumphs. Using the university’s resources, attending seminars or bible studies, Liberty University students can continue to grow their own biblical worldview. Expanding their worldview to other student’s cultures and beliefs can further help Liberty University student’s to develop stronger biblical worldviews. One way a Liberty University student can develop a stronger biblical worldview outside of the classroom, would be to continue to grow their faith and beliefs by reading and studying scripture. As a believer in Christ, my purpose in life is to follow the word of God and follow the path I believe he has made for me. I believe I was made in his image for a purpose and following my life by the word of God will help me become a successful educator. One of my goals in school is to gain a better understanding of how to use my religious beliefs to become the best educator I can be. Using religion and a biblical worldview to be an understanding and compassionate educator is who I desire to become. At home, one of my goals is to continue to grow my faith by reading scripture and being the best mother and wife I can be. Teaching my children about the word of God and continuing to help them grow their biblical worldview as well. Although I believe having a strong biblical worldview will help me to be successful, in public education it can also become an obstacle. Since religion has been put to the side in public education and educators are not permitted to include religion into any form of teaching, educators like myself can find it to be a bit of a challenge. In the video “Diversity at LU” culture is defined as a way of life. By recognizing that blood binds us together and we are stronger together we are able to put diversity to the side for the better good of humanity. God encourages us to work together with people from all cultures for the common good, grace and goal. When we recognize that all people were created in His image we are able to recognize that we are all united by Christ, no matter our beliefs and culture. Matthew 28: 16-20 states that we are all his disciples and encourages us to teach and obey his word to the disciples of all nations. By having a biblical worldview we are able to follow his word and unite with his disciples regardless of the culture others may have come from. We can effectively engage others by opening our hearts and minds to diversity and remembering we are all his disciples. Loving one another just as Christ loves each one of us can help break down the barriers of diversity. When reflecting
on the importance of biblical worldview in school, one’s careers, and home it is clear just how vital it is in everyday life. I believe that by continuing to live by God’s word and developing a stronger biblical worldview I will be able to be a better educator as well as mother and wife. Remembering that God has created each and everyone of us and asks that we spread his word by our own actions is something I strive to do and continue to grow as I develop a stronger biblical worldview in my education and religion
