Religious Worldview Interview Assignment
Part One
I’ve had some obstacles arise this semester which have led to a brief hospitalization to regulate
my medications, which negatively impacted my grades. Not to mention the fact that my
disability had already previously caused an unwanted drop in my performance during the
duration of this class. It totally sucks having to always come in last place, or to be the one not
learning or functioning on the same level as everyone else. That is something that having
Schizophrenia has caused for me for several years now, the reason I’m unable to maintain
meaningful employment, and the biggest cause of my failure in life in general. Despite my
limitations, I know that I am still loved and cherished by the Lord, and that he doesn’t want me
to fail in life. He sees the good in me, and the sincerity in my endeavors, my refusal to quit, and
my determination in finishing the things I set out to do- even if it does mean finishing last.
With that having been said, I’m going to go the extra mile in this assignment and discuss all 4
methods of spreading the gospel, rather than just two, and hopefully I earn enough points to
finish this course with at least a passing grade. Additionally, I want to show the excellent
professor who taught this class, Professor Ryan Donald, that I did learn something, and that his
efforts in educating the guy who always comes in last place was appreciated. The first method is
to spread the gospel of Jesus without fear: William Fay and Ralph Hodge made this approach
famous, emphasizing having casual interactions to spread the gospel. Two inquiries are used as
diagnostic tools: “Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?” and “To you, who is Jesus?” At that

point, the doors open for one to share important scriptures. A few good examples could
include John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8, and Romans 10:9-10. The
fundamental point of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ is furthered by these verses.
The Romans Road is the second method. A series of verses from the book of Romans are used in
The Romans Road, a methodical technique, to convey the message of the gospel. Romans 3:23,
Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9, and Romans 10:13 are the verses that come after each
other in the list. This approach offers a methodical way to discuss the necessity of redemption,
the negative effects of sin, God’s love shown through the death of Jesus, the significance of
confession and belief, and the assurance of salvation for everyone who believes in God. Using a
designated order of these verses is said to effectively communicate the gospel’s message.
The third method is known as the Faith Method. This is Charles G. Finnley’s method which
includes five essential elements derived from each letter of the word “FAITH”, meaning
“Forsaking All, I Trust Him”. The method is described as follows:
1.
Forsaking all – entails confession of sin and moving away from it.
2.
I – the admission of one’s own shame and helplessness.
3.
Trust – placing one’s faith in the accomplished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
4.
Him – devoting one’s life to Jesus and accepting Him as the Savior.
Acts 3:19, Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, and Revelation 3:20 are just a few of the
Bible verses that the FAITH method uses to promote each phase. These texts lend credence to

the ideas of repentance, grace-based redemption by faith, Jesus as the sole means of salvation,
and to an individual devotion to Christ.
The last method is the Evangelism Explosion Method. This method was created by Jphn D.
Kennedy and entails the usage of a methodical strategy to proclaim the gospel using a more
personal, “one on one” approach. The focus of this method are two diagnostic questions: “Have
you reached a place in your spiritual life where you are certain that, if you died today, you
would go to heaven?" and "Suppose you were to die today and stand before God, and He were
to ask you, "Why should I let you into My heaven? "—what would you say?"
According to the feedback, the sharer explains the gospel message using passages like John
3:16, Romans 6:23, and Romans 10:9. The Evangelism Explosion approach leans on particular
verses to reinforce the ideas of sin, salvation, and faith in Jesus Christ. Other verses also include
John 3:16, Romans 6:23, and Romans 10:9.
These strategies offer useful frameworks for presenting the gospel message, relying on certain
verses to communicate the essential ideas of salvation and faith in Jesus Christ. I’ve merely
provided a very basic idea of each method, as there are actually entire training programs taught
using each of these methods and curriculum thereof.
These strategies offer useful frameworks for presenting the message of the gospel of Jesus
Christ. You’ll see that by employing one of the above methods, with corresponding scripture,

that you’ll be more successful in sharing the gospel with others. In closing, I have someone to
interview as a part two of this assignment if you’d like to come along. If not, no worries, I will
leave a copy of the transcript below for you to read. Hmmm
…
I wonder which method I should
use?

Religious Worldview Interview Assignment
Part Two
:
Hello, all, my name is Mike Long, and on behalf of Liberty University, I’m conducting a religious
interview with a non-believer by the name of Ouija. There’s not much time today so please
allow me to dive right in.
1.
Hello, Ouija, I hope you're doing well. I know you probably get a lot of criticism being an
atheist and all, but I’d like to ask you, “What was your religious upbringing growing up? I
guess I’m asking you to describe for us all how you were taught as a child with regards to
religion. Did your parents take you to church?”
Response:
Oujia looks down at his feet for a moment before responding. “Well, I guess I never really cared
because my parents were both drug addicts, I was brought up in a poor home, was mocked and
ridiculed at school, and mostly the same people who were cruel to me were the ones talking
about God. I just never understood that if God was real, then why does he just let innocent
babies be still born, or experience trauma or death before they ever even have a chance to
know their older brother?”
2.
“I understand,” came my honest reply. “But if you could ask God just one thing, what
would it be?”
Response:
Oujia looked me sternly in the eyes and answered. “It would be pointless, I mean
…
God isn’t
real. But I guess if He were real then I’d ask him why should I follow him when all he’s ever done

for me is turn his back on me and let me suffer?”
3.
“So is it childhood trauma that has led you to become an atheist? If not, what would the
main aspect of your life that leads you to not believe in God?”
Response:
(subject nodded as if to reply yes but sat otherwise silent)
4.
“What do you think of the Bible?”
Response:
“I think its written by men who have translated and interpreted it to the furtherment of full-on
government control of the population. Basically, it’s just a make believe book written to teach us
all to be weak and turn the other cheek instead of defending ourselves and being strong as a
nation. Isn’t it funny that everyone knows the government is evil, but they create a societal
norm of going to church and believing in Jesus as if they’re (the government) are the good guys!
And we all fall right into it, start arguing over principles, and yadda, yadda, yadda until complete
division is accomplished. Like magic, they have us all in control, despite the fact that we
outnumber them. People shouldn’t fear their government, ya know
…
The government should
fear its people
…
They (the government) are evil. They’re even waging war on their own citizens
through federal funded ganstalking, mind-control, voice to skull technologies, psychological and
electronic harassment, and torture. If that’s the ones promoting this Jesus nonsense then who
in their right mind would want to believe in it? I mean, dude
…
do you trust them to not have
changed it all? Like what if it's backwards? What if evil is actually good and that's why the rich

people are rich, and the poor people are poor?”
5.
“What about Jesus? Do you believe in Jesus? “
Response:
“Yeah, the biggest crock of sh*t I’ve ever heard. If he was God on Earth, who was God in
Heaven? And how about virgins having babies? Lol. It’s ridiculous! I tell you what man, name
one possible way for Jesus to have been born from a woman who had never had sex before and
I’ll listen to the rest of what you have to say, play? But if you can’t then i’m done with this
interview. “
6.
“Fair enough. From a strictly scientific point of view, I believe it could be very possible
that Jesus was born of a virgin mother through actual sperm of God the father that was
placed inside of her through artificial insemination performed by the Angel Gabriel. Oh,
and by the way
…
Jesus was the biggest outlaw in the Bible, innocent babies are stillborn
because of the sins of generations before us, who are also to blame for all of the bad
things that happen to good people, and yes the government probably mistranslated or
corrupting certain aspects of Christianity
…
but that’s why we rely on the power of the
Holy Spirit guide us rather than our preacher’s at church. Don't believe me, my friend,
read it yourself.”
Response:
“Wow, bro, I never thought of that before. A deal is a deal. I guess I’ll hear you out and

just be quiet.”
Ouija accepts the Bible I hand over to him. It’s my personal, $170 leather bound Bible but I had
already decided it was what I was supposed to do. I felt led that I was to utilize the Evangelism
Explosion Method in my next meeting with Oujia. I have already broken through the barriers of
his defensive manner and had begun to gain his approval in a small way. Perhaps next time I can
get him to go to a Pentecostal Church and see the power of the Holy Spirit come alive? Who
knows! With God, anything is possible
