The purpose of this assignment is to deepen your learning from teaching

Provide a simple statement answering who you shared with.
Ivan Rodriguez - My coworker
2.
In a brief paragraph, identify the questions or insights from your personal study that informed your thinking as you prepared for your discussion. What is the purpose of the law of chastity?
Why does the church have rules related to sexual morality?
What does it mean to be morally clean before and during marriage?
What is the role of sex in God's plan?
3.
In 1-2 paragraph(s), write about what you learned as a result of this conversation. What was this conversation about? What direct lines or quotes from our reading material or your research were you referencing or thinking about as you had this intentional conversation? I learned that people are not obliged to understand our principles, but rather that we are responsible for knowing how to explain them, and that if we make the commandments and doctrines understandable with respect and love, people can better understand why. It is important to us and even if they do not share the beliefs, at least they will come to feel that they
are something good in our lives, they will be able to develop empathy for them and sometimes inspire them.
I used Elder Holland's teachings a lot in order to teach my coworker about the importance of sexual morality in my life, especially helping him understand that engaging in intimacy is not something merely physical as is usually taught and promoted outside the church but rather that I showed him with the use of reason and some quotes and scriptures, that intimacy is something
deeper and that seeing him with that respect is not something that diminishes me, but rather that it provides me with many positive aspects for my emotional health and life. personal, thus helping you understand that it is not about accepting a prohibition, but rather striving to give a more eternal meaning to the consequences and impact of each activity in which we participate.ap or click here to write your response

What do you feel inspired to do now that you have read the material and engaged in this conversation?
What deeper connections and insights did you feel from this conversation?
I was able to understand more the importance of giving an eternal meaning to the influence of our actions in life, since by stopping thinking only about this life things take on a more beautiful meaning.
What did you agree/disagree with in your discussions? How did you handle this?
He mainly disagreed with the fact that members have to live under a "ban."
I handled it honestly, I explained to him that there are membership councils resulting from breaking the law of chastity, but I also talked to him about the importance of the commitment we make and what impact fulfilling it has, I gave him an example of my marital experience and how Preparing and keeping ourselves dignified for so many years has given us a wide variety of beautiful feelings, so I do not feel that I have been harassed or forbidden, but rather that over the years my feelings and appreciation for my partner have increased.
Did anything discussed change your way of thinking? If so, what and how?
How will you leverage this knowledge to strengthen your family (now and/or in the future)?
I felt that the way I present this commandment changed a lot, I learned that I should not take things for granted but rather be empathetic and patient when I explain things, and this has made me meditate on the loving way in which I should present the commandments to my children, not from authoritarianism but rather from example and dedicated understanding.
What are you inspired to do now that you have read the material and participated in this conversation?
I feel inspired to become a better teacher, to become good at explaining and helping others understand, I feel that this way I will develop my full potential as a member of the church, and people will feel that although I am not perfect, there is much I can share and do for them.
