Family Home Evening Project—Plan Student Name: Title or Topic: Building our Family through Home Evenings Instructions Follow the instructions in your course to complete this project. In the table provided below, you will create your FHE lesson plan. Once you have your plan written out, upload this document to I-Learn. When referencing a passage, include the citation and paste the actual passage into your response. Your plan should include the following elements ( NOTE —boxes will expand as you type): The Principle or Doctrine you will teach: The principle I would like to teach during my Family Home Evening for this week will be about building the family through spending time together during our FHE. A scripture passage or reference (copied from the portion of the Book of Mormon being studied this semester) that teaches this principle: Family Home Evening Resource book Chapter 1 A story, object lesson, or activity to introduce the theme or principle you wish to discuss: The story/lesson I would like to share during this activity was inspired by the section “Let’s Make it Work.” It talked about expressing my feelings on coming together as a family simply talking and sharing all the things we could and should do as a family. Additional scripture references on this Principle or Doctrine: Mosiah 4:15 15 But ye will a teach them to b walk in the ways of truth and c soberness ; ye will teach them to d love one another, and to serve one another. A quote from a church leader that reiterates or discusses the principle: President Thomas S. Monson shared, “We cannot afford to neglect this heaven-inspired program. It can bring spiritual growth to each member of the family, helping him or her to withstand the temptations which are everywhere. The lessons learned in the home are those that last the longest.” Your feelings or testimony of the principle being taught: I have found that when my family and I spend time together we appreciate one another more. We have realized that during the times of need and compassion or when one of us is struggling we set aside our differences and do our best to accommodate and encourage. I am really grateful for my family and the love we have for one another; I appreciate the differences in opinion and perspective we have when it comes to knowing what is best for our family. I know that during the times that I have struggled my little sister was always there for me patting my back when I was getting too overwhelmed with myself and the circumstances, I have been in. I look up to her and the example she showed me through her patience. I hope that someday I could do the same for her and share the same patience she shared with me.
