before submitting.
Part One: Christian Beliefs
Respond thoroughly to the prompts in this part, using total of 250-350 words combined. Use the
Bible and at least one academic source (textbook, topic overview, or peer-reviewed article). Cite
all of the resources used with in-text citations.
Include all the sources you cite on a reference
section at the end of this document.
1.
Summarize Christian beliefs about the origins of the universe:
Regarding the universe's origins, Christians believe that God was its creator. They believe
God created people after creating heaven and the entire earth, including all of its
inhabitants such as animals, mountains, and oceans.
2.
Summarize Genesis 1-2:
In seven days God created the heavens, the earth, everything in it.
That is the reason we have 7 days in a week. The first day was when day and night were
made, and on the second day, he created water and the sky. It goes on to describe how
he made the land, the sea, fish, animals, and many more. God then made man to work
and tend to the earth. God created a woman to help man because he realized that he
needed a helper. He then told them they may eat from any tree in the garden, but they
must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil because, if you eat from it, you
will undoubtedly perish (Genesis 1:1–2:25 ESV - in the beginning, god).
3.
Summarize general revelation and special revelation:
General revelation and special revelation are the two ways God has chosen to
make himself known to humanity (GotQuestions.org, 2007).
General revelations
about God are universal truths that can be discovered in the natural world
(GotQuestions.org, 2007). The term "special revelation" refers to more detailed
revelations of God made possible by paranormal means (GotQuestions.org, 2007).
4.
Summarize the
three major Creationism approaches to Genesis 1-2:
The three main approaches—young-earth creation, old-earth creation, and evolutionary
creation—can be used to interpret Genesis 1-2.
Young-Earth creation, is the first approach, which states that the earth is between six and
ten thousand years old and that God created the world in six days. The next approach is
Old-Earth creation, which believes that God created life in stages and that each day was
long; they hold the view that the Earth was created billions of years ago. The third
approach is Evolutionary creation, which believes that God initiated evolution, essentially
having faith in modern science.
Part Two: Current Understanding
Respond thoroughly to the prompts in this part, using total of 250-350 words combined. Use the
Bible and at least one academic source (textbook, topic overview, or peer-reviewed article). Cite
all of the resources used with in-text citations.
Include all the sources you cite on a reference
section at the end of this document.
1.
My current beliefs about the origin of the universe:
As a Christian, I believe that God created the universe and everything in it.
As stated in Genesis 1 and 2, I believe he created the heavens and the earth in six days
and rested on the seventh.I firmly believe that the Bible is true in every way. I believe that
God created man from dust and woman from man's rib, and that He created each of us to
be in His image.I remain faithful to the biblical teachings found in Genesis 1 and 2.
2.
My current beliefs about evolution:
I believe that species in living things evolve and change over time in order to adapt to their
surroundings. I am convinced that, while evolution has occurred on Earth over time, it is
not the beginning of the universe. Although science concludes that evolution is obvious, I
do not believe it was the case when the universe was created. In his image, God created
the universe and everything in it.
3.
My current beliefs about the age of the earth:
I'm not sure how old the earth is or if anyone knows for sure, but I believe it could be
around a million years old. The knowledge of rock formation and the different layers of
formation can tell you that the earth is very old. Furthermore, the discovery of fossils of
animals, dinosaurs, and other creatures that existed on Earth before humans has led us
to believe that the earth is much older than we previously thought.
4.
My current beliefs about if the Bible and science can be reconciled:
I think it's possible to find agreement between the Bible and science. There is a
common misconception that science and religion cannot coexist. Many scientists
have made significant scientific advancements while holding to a theistic
worldview.
Part Three: Impact of Current Understanding
Respond thoroughly to the prompts in this part, using total of 250-350 words combined. Use the
Bible and at least one academic source (textbook, topic overview, or peer-reviewed article). Cite
all of the resources used with in-text citations.
Include all the sources you cite on a reference
section at the end of this document.
1.
Therefore, this is what I believe about the nature of God:
I believe in one God, who is also the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I also believe
that God is the one who created everything.
He is the one who made the universe,
including the heavens and the earth. I believe God is supremely great beyond all human
comprehension, all-knowing when it comes to giving, and all-powerful when it comes to
forgiving.
2.
Therefore, this is what I believe about the nature of Humanity:
I think that God created us in His likeness and that this is why we were created to be like
Him.I think that loving one another is part of our responsibility as disciples. I believe that
humanity introduces sin and that if we do not ask for forgiveness, we are all condemned.
We are all born again and forgiven as a result of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. Sin is both

universal and unavoidable. It is our responsibility to turn to Christ and the church for
guidance as we work to become more like Christ in both ourselves and in others. We
must strive to live as closely as we can to what it means to be a true disciple of Christ,
although we will never get there.
3.
Therefore, this is what I believe about the care for the Earth:
I believe the earth was created by God, so I think we should do everything in our power to
preserve it and keep it clean. As a result, there is sin in the world, and that sin will have an
impact on how the world appears. We can try our hardest, but I think that eventually
something will happen that is beyond our control. I believe it is wise to try
to preserve the
Earth for future generations.
