REL 275C-42 Scripture to read 1 Nephi 9:6 2 Nephi 9:20 2 Nephi 11:5–6 Mosiah 2:21–24 Mosiah 4:5–12 Mosiah 15:1–4 Alma 14:11 Alma 18:28–34 Jesus is the Christ Attribute or character trait of God God knows all things from the beginning, prepares a way to accomplish His work, and has all power so that He can achieve His goals. God knows all things. God is holy. The Lord’s grace, justice, power, and mercy are the basis for the eternal plan of deliverance. Except by Christ, all would perish. God created me, kept me preserved, and is the basis for my rejoicing… Even if I were to serve him with all my effort for every moment of every day, I would still be an unprofitable servant. The only means by which salvation cometh is through Jesus Christ. God is great, long-suffering, and steadfast. Just and True. Has a body of flesh, Eternal Father of heaven and earth. God is just. God created all things, knows all the thoughts and intents of the heart. Man was created in the image of God. “So no investigator can come into this Church with a real testimony, with real conversion, with what we are seeking for and calling real growth in each convert, unless he or she has had at least the beginning of some personal, spiritual, true experience with God. That kind of true experience can come only when there is the realization that He is a real being, an actual person, a literal Father of flesh and bone who speaks and sees and feels, who knows all His children’s names and all their needs, who hears all their prayers, and who wants all His children in His Church. These investigators need to know He has a plan for their salvation and that He has given commandments as to how we find our way back to Him.” [1] The difficult process of understanding a God that has no corporal existence is the root of much confusion. There is enough that does not seem to make much sense in this world and our existence. We should not have to add another layer to this by insisting that God has no physical or emotional traits. How can He care about me if He doesn’t know me or anything about me? ` beautiful aspects of the gospel: Jesus took “upon him [our] infirmities, that … he [might] know according to the flesh how to succor” us. [2] There is a true connection between humanity and their Savior, Jesus Christ. Without an understanding of this relationship, the rest of the gospel is moot.
