Part 3- Vlog-2
The themes I choose was Creation and Covenants. I believe the Creation theme is one of the most important parts of the storyline of the Old Testament. I believe the Covenants are the next most important parts of the Old Testament. The creation give us a very detailed description of how humans and all living creatures came into existence. The creation tells us why the 7th (Sabbath) day of the week is kept holy and we are to rest. The creation gives light into the fall of creation. The creation gives humans understanding of why we were thrown out of the garden and
now have to prove to God that we belong in the garden of heaven. Humans now go through trials
and tribulations because of the fall of God’s creation. Women bare pain during birth because of the fall of God’s creation. Every month women are reminded of the fall of God’s creation. I believe with the understanding of God’s creation and the fall of God’s creation it gives humans an understanding of the covenants God gave us. The Covenants are so very important in the Old Testament because it is a pledge of obligation between God and his people. Covenants comes from the fall of God’s creation. Knowing and understanding the fall gives humans understanding of all God’s Covenants. Let’s humans know why the Covenants exist, allows human to understand what God wants from us and what his promises are to humans. The Old Testament is about the rise and fall of humans over and over. Each time God forgives and puts a new covenant in place several times throughout the Old Testament. God creates signs of the Covenants as reminder such the Sabbath – In Exodus Chapter 31 verse 14 - 17 it states “Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death; those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people. For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of Sabbath rest, holy to the

Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death.” “The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant.” “It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.” This tells humans even though God did make it to where we had to work because of sin he did give us a day off to do nothing but give him praise and rest up for the next 6 days. The next sign God gave humans as a reminder for
a Covenant was the rainbow after the flood. The rainbow was a symbol of the renewal of mankind. In Genesis chapter 9 verse 16 it tells humans “Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” This let’s humans know that God made a promises to all living creatures not to flood the earth again to destroy all life and a reminder to God that he made that promises to humans and all living creatures. The last sign was introducing circumcision God told
Abraham in Genesis chapter 17 verses 9 through 14 about his covenant and what was expected. Then God said to Abraham, “As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come. This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you. For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including
those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner—those who are not your offspring. Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant. Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.” These signs are wonders and works of God’s covenants still to this day in 2024.

Every male that is born gets circumcised unless the parent says no. We are still today following one of God’s rules of his covenant.
