2 Part 2 – Vlog -1 One of the most interesting themes I find to be in the Old Testament is Creation. I find the Creation theme to be interesting because this is how humans came about. Everything that was created came from the creation that God created. The first creation theme came from Genesis chapter 1 where the heavens and the earth was created. The second creation of God was in Genesis chapter 2 where he created humans, plants animals and then God creates Eve from Adam. God’s greatest creation of all, man and woman. I feel that the creations are important because this is how everything was started. The creation gives us the days, nights, plants, animals, and most of us, humans. In the creation we all so know that we are supposed to work 6 days of the week and on the 7 th day we are supposed to keep it holy and be our day of rest as God did. The second interesting theme I found in the Old Testament was Covenants. One covenant is found in Genesis chapter 6 verses 11 through 21. Where God makes his covenant with Noah about building the ark to save the people and the animals. Another covenants is in Genesis 12 verse 2 through 3. This covenant was made with Abram. The creation of these Covenants are important in their own right because they each solidifies how God has attempted more than once to establish a good relationship with his people. Covenants tell us what God wants from his people and Gods promises to be. When God makes these covenants it gives his people some sort of promise of God fulfilling his word. It allows people to know that God loves us and that he is also a merciful and a forgiving God. Even though time and time again his people disobeys his word God forgives eventually. After the flood God spoke of another covenant with Noah in Genesis chapter 9 verses 1 through 9, and states in verse 9 “"I now establish my covenant with 2
3 you and with your descendants after you” Verse 10 “and with every living creature that was with you--the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you every living creature on earth.” This allows everyone to know this covenant is for everything and everyone on earth. God goes on to state in verse 11 “I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth." This covenant here is a promises and a covenant all within itself. God constantly shows his creations that he loves us and he cares. In verses 12 and 13 God also gives us the certainty that covenant is between God and every living creature and the rainbow is a sign for him and the earth, that he will never flood the earth again.” Verse 12 and 13 states “And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” 3
