Bible Translation
The Bible is one of the prominent books globally, primarily used by Christians in learning about
their God, doctrines, socialization, and other aspects. However, today’s Bible versions are
translations from historical manuscripts, scrolls, and texts. The art and practice of converting the
Bible into dialects besides its original is referred to as translation (The Editors of Encyclopaedia
Britannica). Although translations have been critical in helping people, especially Christians,
understand the scriptures and spread the gospel, I believe it has significantly affected the
accuracy of the original meaning.
The Old Testament, written in Hebrew, remains the oldest language used in the Bible. But
the Bible has been made available to people in countless languages, allowing it to reach even the
most distant corners of the globe. Human beings are erratic, meaning the translation process
cannot be perfect. For this reason, each translation involved some aspects of imperfection, which
would be transferred from one version to the other. Therefore, the latest translation version
cannot accurately match the original scriptures due to some errors transferred from one version.
Aspects such as language errors, misinterpretations, and printing issues indicate that the history
of Bible translations must have affected tha accuracy of the Bible versions people use today. The
King James Bible is the best version I prefer to read because it was first published in 1611,
making it one of the oldest translations. The primary reason I prefer the King James Bible is that
since it is one of the oldest versions, it is more accurate in presenting the Biblical facts and

events that the newest versions (Bible Society). I believe that the newer the versions, the less
accurate they are, and the older the versions, the more precise they are from the original versions.
