This week is an introduction to keeping a professional journal. Starting in Week 3 make sure you have at least one (1) entry in your professional journal each week using the templates provided, in this course, as a guide. Students are to make at least one (1) entry in their professional journal each week. The entries will be reported in CLA1 due in Week 6 (a link to a template can be found in the resources section of this syllabus). In your discussion post: o Read the articles on journaling and review the template provided. o Identify what approach, to journaling, in the articles you found useful and why. o Post to the discussion forum that you have reviewed the journaling materials and what you learned, based on the articles. o Journal writing tips are provided in the Internship Course Resources under Supplementary Material in this GAP course. Here is also a web article with templates to review as well: Guide to Keeping a Work Journal (with downloadable template) (journalinghabit.com) . o You may also post if you have experience journaling, your thoughts about journaling, and further questions you may have about journaling. Please be sure to respond to a peer. The given article provides useful guidelines for journaling that are based on the habits of successful people from different backgrounds and careers globally. Keeping a work journal has several significant benefits, including organizing and planning one's day, improving focus, managing emotions, taking notes during meetings, and promoting self-reflection and growth. As part of the article, the author gives an example of a work journal organized well, emphasizing the importance of information such as quotes and expressions of thanks, outcome-based objectives, handling unforeseen tasks, personal notes, and keeping track of other chores and duties (Iftanti, 2016). A monthly reflection and review process helps measure productivity, skill development, and career advancement. This method allows you to take advantage of the power of journaling both personally and professionally, which is why I found it useful. Using a holistic model, you can set goals, become aware of your own capabilities, and be productive (Parker et al., 2017). I am compelled by the article's emphasis on reflection and improvement because it demonstrates that journaling is more than just recording experiences; it helps one develop and succeed in their career. I use journaling to keep track of my personal development, manage tasks, stay organized, and monitor my progress. I feel successful and keep focused on my objectives when I observe improvement over time. I'm curious to find out more about how to blend digital work management systems and analog notebooks, as the article indicates (Mathieu et al., 2017). Additionally, I'd like to find out more about how to make journaling more effective for self-reflection and growth. References:

Although it uses the writings of Frank and Siddiqui to bolster its conclusions, it lacks critical engagement and heavily depends on their assertions without examining their veracity. Furthermore, it ignores any possible drawbacks or restrictions associated with journaling, such as the time and effort needed or the danger of being unduly preoccupied with documentation at the expense of action. To provide a well-rounded evaluation of the benefits of journaling, a more balanced perspective would address these potential downsides and take other perspectives into account. Thank you, Kedar Hi Codi, The paragraph focuses on the benefits of work journaling in your DBA program and how it has influenced your personal development, attention to detail, and team conversations. The personal advantages are clear, but the argument's scope is constrained by the dependence on a single source of evidence. Alternative perspectives or prospective disadvantages should be taken into account during the critical analysis process. For instance, journaling may not be equally helpful for all people, and its effects on emotional control may differ greatly from person to person. A more fair viewpoint would take into account these possible drawbacks and provide a more thorough analysis of the practice's ramifications in various situations. Thank you, Kedar
