PSY 211 Module Two Milestone Template Review the article on the six dimensions of wellness. Then answer each question with a minimum of 3 to 5 sentences. Support your answers with credible sources when appropriate. Complete this template by replacing the bracketed text with the relevant information. Choose one of the wellness dimensions and explain whether you feel it is guided more by nature or nurture. Explain your response. I believe that everyone emotional well-being is guided more by nurture. This is because that no child is born with a negative image. That is shaped throughout a childhood’s development, and other emotions as well. Explain how one dimension of wellness influences cognitive well-being during a specific stage of development. The infant stage influences so much cognitive well-being. With my one year old I was seeing her grow up so fast by solving problems with how to escape from her play area to being able to request certain foods she wanted. This is also true with babies growing up and becoming stronger with their body being able to move their arms, and legs being able to crawl, and walk also shows. Identify the wellness dimension that you feel most in control of. Explain your response. I would say that with what I eat. Being able to watch what I consume from junk food, to fast food can have an affect on your emotions and how you feel. Last week I ate out quite a few times, and felt tired throughout the week, and struggled at work. Having a better diet can show the affect’s we have on our bodies. Identify the wellness dimension that you feel least in control of. Explain your response. I feel least control over my depression and my emotions. This is because how i was brought up. There was always tready around in my family. This has proven hard growing up dealing with depression and understanding your emotions at an early age has an huge affect on what you do throughout the day. This problems difficult showing emotions towards others, but I have a greatt understanding of empathy towards others. Choose one dimension that you believe to be predominant in development. Explain your response. Being able to communicate through social dimension is very important for development. Being able to fit within communities based on your idenitfy, and how you fit in. When someone feels that they belong somewhere the emotions, and outlook on life can be better. Explain how emotional intelligence and resilience factors affect your well-being. o Consider how you can apply the dimensions of wellness to support your own well-being in your response. Having great emotional intelligence can help factor in some of your well-being. Being able to wake up everyday and be happy can have a postive outlook on your life. Being able to understand when you are 1
strugglign and figure out whats to come out on top can have a huge affect on your well-being. Knowing that what you are going through is just a phase is another way to look at it. 2
