Conspiracy theories are beliefs that a certain harmful or tragic event was caused by a certain powerful group (Douglas et al., 2019). Since 1993, Tupac and Biggie used to be friends (Tench, 2019). In 1994, Biggie released an album named “Ready to Die” in which the song “Who Shot Ya?” was featured (Gibson, 2022). A similar situation to what had happened to Tupac was described by the lyrics of the track. In 1996, Tupac struck back with the song “Hit ‘Em Up,” where he implied to being involved with Biggie’s wife in an affair. In 1996, Tupac struck back with the song “Hit ‘Em Up,” where he implied to being involved with Biggie’s wife in an affair. Following these events people believe that Biggie orchestrated Tupac’s murder and the belief still lives on decades later. Six months after Tupac’s murder, Biggie was shot and killed, and it is believed that this was an act of revenge for killing Tupac. This theory is related to Suge Knight. The lead investigator on Biggie’s murder, Russell Poole alleged the other LAPD officers had connections to Death Row Records and Suge Knight (Sullivan, 2019). He believed that Suge had planned Biggie’s murder to revenge for the death of Tupac and these officers tried to cover for him (Giry & Tika, 2020). On FBI involvement, another conspiracy theory suggests that the two rappers were eliminated by the FBI in order to put violent rap culture to a stop. Since the murders of Tupac and Biggie remain unsolved, a lot of conspiracy theories continue to come up over the years. These theories however have no credible evidence despite them offering intriguing evidence. Music industry rivalry, personal conflicts, and law enforcement are the major elements surrounding the circumstances of these deaths. Many articles have been published, and many documentaries have also been made, for example the 2002’s “Biggie & Tupac,” which streamed on Netflix . The East Coast-West Coast Feud.
