2 Researcher’s Choices and Data Data collection is the systematic technique of collecting measuring information on targeted variables in an attempt to address stated research questions, test hypotheses, and evaluation of the outcomes. As a researcher, my data sources include; conducting interviews, administering open-ended questionnaires, and reviewing journal entries of the sampled participants. These data sources have various strengths and weaknesses. This paper explains whether or not the mentioned data sources will generate the depth of data necessary for my research and the challenges I may encounter while collecting data from these sources. Conducting Interviews: Interviews are a data collection method in which two or more individuals exchange information by answering a series of questions. A researcher creates the questions in order to convey information from study respondents about a particular topic or topic. The author's research questions inform these topics. Interviews are typically conducted between an interviewer and an interviewee ( McGrath et al., 2019) . This data source generates a great depth of data because it gives the researcher the opportunity to ask any questions regarding the topic under study without any limit hence access to detailed information. The main challenge that may be experienced while collecting data from this source is the language barrier. Administering open-ended questionnaires : Respondents can go into as much depth as they want with open-ended questions. Open-ended questionnaire responses provide more nuance than closed-ended questionnaire responses because they are written exactly as the respondents speak, allowing them to explain themselves more flexibly. Open-ended questions produce less ambiguous answers because they are not tied to a multiple choice or a rated scale. This source
3 may however be very time-consuming and provide a lot of irrelevant information ( Theofanidis, & Fountouki., 2018) . Reviewing journal entries of the sampled participants: This procedure involves reading journals that had previously been written by the experts to extract information for the research study. The main advantage of this source is its tendency to save o time. The main limitations are the conceptual and limitation problems that may be contained in the research. Generally, conducting interviews is the most reliable of the three sources of information because it empowers the interviewer to collect only relevant information while minimizing time waste.
