1 MODULE 3 Assignment Alisha Willis SBS105
2 The vision trial was the first one to be completed. It involved vision. My thing was to go to a room that was dark and sit and put my focus on an object. I chose a picture of my dog. Staring at it I could see the engraved lines on the frame. Looking at it with peripheral vision allowed me to have a clearer vision of the picture. For rods we see that can be used in places that are dark while the cons are for when there much more lights around. For the next experiment, I needed to put a couple of times in front of me that was colored. I went with a pink sweater, purple flowers, and green hair piun. The light went off and on. When that happened, the color was not that great for me to see. I had to adjust my eyes and that took a couple of seconds. We all have what is known as sensitivity to light. The experiment, which involved the blind spot made me close left eye and really put my concentration on the X. I was not able to see the dot that was black. It was quite odd. The second blind spot experiment allowed me to look at the same x but with it in a lower position. I could see the bars but no mouse. Having to stare at the white dot and then the black allowed me to see the peace sign I could see it for 25 seconds at the most. With the taste test, I went with cherry candy and peppermint candy. Of course, I knew what was in my mouth. For satiation, I used my partner. The perfume was one that his mom loved and used. He really hated the smell. When he came into the room later, he said the smell was tolerable.
3 With the touch test, the paperclip was at 3 cm. It did vary. Palms were the part of the body with the smallest spatial threshold. Backs of arms were the biggest. For the temperature perception, my partner was used. I told him to put his in the hot water. He did and pulled it out fast and put it into cold water. He put his hand in the lukewarm water and said that the lukewarm was the best feeling temperature. For the hearing and balance test, a timer was set, and told my partner to sit as still as he could when the beeping was happening before trying to turn to the sound. He did not move his head and was able to tell me where the beep was coming from. With the balance and vision, my partner had a tough time keeping straight. It takes a good form and concentration in. order to get it done.
