Due to workplace violence issues, modern firms prioritize safe and secure
workplaces. To properly combat and alleviate workplace violence, one must understand its
many forms. This discourse analyzes workplace violence and proposes complete methods to
handle bullying and harassment as distinct dangers to workers (Arbury, Collins, Magtahas,
Holmes & Hodgson, 2022).
Workplace violence comprises a range of manifestations, including physical violence,
verbal abuse, bullying or harassment, sexual harassment, and psychological or emotional
violence. Every sort of employment has distinct issues when it comes to ensuring a safe and
healthy environment for employees (Arbury, Collins, Magtahas, Holmes & Hodgson, 2022).
Recurring abuse, threats, or humiliation creates a toxic workplace that may affect
employee morale, mental health, and productivity. The behavior affects the targeted
individual and the work culture, lowering job satisfaction and increasing turnover (Arbury,
Collins, Magtahas, Holmes & Hodgson, 2022).
Addressing and reducing workplace bullying and harassment requires a multifaceted
strategy, including the creation of suitable policies. The Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA) stresses the need for companies to create and implement
comprehensive bullying and harassment policies. According to the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration regulatory frameworks must clearly define undesirable actions and
impose sanctions for violators (Michaels, & Wagner, 2020).
Training and awareness initiatives play a crucial role in fostering a workplace
environment that is equipped to identify, mitigate, and appropriately respond to instances of
bullying and harassment. These activities serve to generate awareness and provide education
to workers on the promotion of a working climate that is characterized by respect (Michaels,
& Wagner, 2020).
According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, it is essential to build
a workplace culture that fosters respect, inclusiveness, and support to effectively prevent and
address instances of bullying and harassment. The use of diversity and inclusion strategies
facilitates the development of a professional setting defined by heightened levels of respect
and tolerance (Michaels, & Wagner, 2020).
The establishment of accessible and anonymous reporting mechanisms is of utmost
importance to foster an environment where workers feel empowered to report problems
without apprehension of potential retaliation. Moreover, it is crucial to prioritize the
establishment of a timely and unbiased investigative procedure for documented incidents
(Michaels, & Wagner, 2020).
Employee Assistance Programs are essential in providing the necessary support and
guidance to employees who have experienced bullying or harassment. These programs often
include counseling services or employee assistance programs (Michaels, & Wagner, 2020).
Companies may reduce bullying and harassment by carefully implementing these
tactics to build a workplace culture that prioritizes employee safety and well-being. In
conclusion, these tactics create a workplace that respects and supports all employees
(Michaels, & Wagner, 2020).
The NIV urges God's holy and valued chosen ones to show compassion, love,
humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12-14). Healthy relationships need patience
and forgiveness, particularly when challenges arise. Forgive others as God forgave you. Make
love the force that unites everyone.
