A. Corporate Policies
Give every benefit to both full-time and part-time employees. Benefits at TechFite are being made available to all staff members. Medical, dental, and vision services are among the benefits. Additionally, the company will match 5% of its money to the employees' 401(k), starting on the first day of employment.
TechFite prohibits the distribution of bonuses to firm executives and leadership. Regardless of job titles or status, the corporation will use revenue assets to enhance employee compensation by the same percentage. This will help the business achieve equitable opportunity.
The firm must sponsor all community organizations. This regulation will ensure that all executives participate and organizations profiting from TechFite have sponsorship. Additionally, it will make sure to uphold positive ties to the community.
A1. Rationale
At TechFite, we want to ensure that our staff members are prioritized and given the most significant resources possible. The benefits policy is crucial because it encourages labor equality. Providing benefits to all employees, including part-time and
full-time, will aid in boosting employee retention. The choice of enrolling in a single or family plan will be available to employees. We can attract and retain health workers
for our innovative company by offering these substantial benefits. We want to reassure
our workers that we care about their future, needs, and well-being. This policy will assist us in developing our standing for upcoming success. Finally, offering these perks to all workers fosters a culture where each person's contributions are valued. Regardless of how many hours a job may require, every employee must fulfill their responsibilities to the best of their abilities.
At TechFite, we want all employees to feel valued equally, not depending on their title or status. That said, we will be prohibiting the distribution of bonuses to the executive and leadership of the company. We aim to communicate to all employees that they are no less critical than executives and leaders. All employees will be given the same percentage of bonuses to show commitment to our employees. We want a fair environment. This policy prevents any one group from having an unfair advantage over another.
TechFite's sponsorship program allows employees to participate in various activities, enhance general aesthetics, and demonstrate our commitment to supporting our neighborhood communities. Through their participation, employees will have the chance to showcase the company's attitude of cooperation.
A2. Ethical Versus Legal Issues
When a company must assess an issue or decision and decide what is right or wrong, it is considered to be facing ethical issues. All decisions should be made with ethics in mind. Legal
matters deal with the repercussions of disobeying written law. Understanding the laws is what will prevent these kinds of issues from occurring. A3. Ethical Issues in the Scenario
In this situation, TechFite has many ethical problems; in fact, the majority of their issues overall are ethical problems that could make customers unhappy with the business. TechFite should have followed through on commitments they made. The company's confidence could have been improved since they cut hours and restricted perks to full-time workers. Because they are preventing employees who are employed part-time from being eligible for benefits, this is an ethical problem. By providing executives and leadership with more significant bonuses, TechFite was also demonstrating inequity, which can lead to losing the trust of other employees and lower productivity and staff retention. The corporation hasn't addressed or funded these obligations at this point. Due to the lack of community trust and corporation backing, this is an ethical problem.
A4. Purpose of the Ethics Officer
An Ethics Officer's duties include:
Conducting an audit of all organizational operations.
Developing ethical standards based on company culture.
Advise the CEO or Board on the best course of action for implementing the recommended policies.
Additionally, as a sounding board, ethics officers are responsible for rectifying and investigating any ethics violations. They monitor compliance. They play a crucial role in giving leadership and direction for actions taken and in the creation and oversight of company
behavior. They also investigate inquiries into alleged ethical transgressions or business conflicts of interest. To fulfill the promises TechFite made to the city of Dellberg, they also have a responsibility to match this code of ethics and collaborate with the local community.
B. Corporate Social Responsibility
A firm stays socially accountable to itself, stakeholders, and communities through corporate social responsibility. It can also be employed as a tool to boost revenue or as a means of resolving moral dilemmas. Corporate social responsibility is an excellent company approach to boosting employee morale and preventing societal and environmental degradation. Additionally, the neighborhood and their brand are benefited. The community can see that they are trying to have a positive effect by using this technique. Management and staff should take this strategy seriously because it is a crucial factor in whether a corporation succeeds or
fails. Employees at TechFite and the City of Dellberg gain from this strategy by having the chance to grow and contribute to the betterment of society and the environment. More opportunities will result from this, including more employment opportunities, improved engagement and productivity, employee retention, and increased employee pay.
B1. Community Reputation
TechFite has let its standing in the community significantly deteriorate. They have broken their commitments, and as a result, their reputation among employees and the community has suffered. Only CEOs and leadership received bonuses from the corporation; the rest of the workforce did not. They did not treat all employees fairly when it came to benefits. Employee
retention may suffer if workers are not paid appropriately since they may not demonstrate high productivity, which will also lead to failure in other areas. They fell short of their obligations to the city of Dellberg by making insufficient contributions to the community.
B2. Course of Action
The first step they would need to take to regain people's trust would be to keep their pledges and obligations. Without faith, the community won't regard them seriously. After that, they would need to repair their reputation by consulting with local authorities to determine the best
methods to contribute to and serve the community. By being able to provide money to sponsor
and support activities as well as neighborhood youth initiatives, they should invest in the community. These steps will aid in repairing the harm that was done and in restoring trust. This will assist in demonstrating to the City of Dellberg that TechFite is committed to developing a good rapport with the locals. The needs of TechFite's employees must be given priority. Better working conditions will result, and staff retention will rise. All employees will exhibit higher work ethics and productivity when treated fairly and equally, improving the working environment.
B3. The Course of Action: Explanation
TechFite is demonstrating its dedication to enhancing its relationship with the community by meeting the city council members, beginning to repair the city's infrastructure, and giving back through sponsorships and youth initiatives. By guaranteeing benefits for full-time and part-time employees, TechFite can fulfill its ethical obligation to ensure that human resources compliance is met. This will support the business's ethical commitment to its workers. TechFite can achieve its social responsibility by allocating its profits more equitably to all its workers and the community instead of giving executive and leadership bonuses alone. TechFite will be ecologically conscious by committing to its community involvement and engagement through sponsorship, as it will encourage impactful growth. This will increase the company's reputation as a supporter of the local community.
