According to Rashid and Qaisar (2017), an attitude of fair-mindedness and a willingness to consider other perspectives is the foundation of critical thinking. It is not only the attitude of the learner that affects critical thinking but the attitude of the teacher as well. According to Van Der Zanden et al. (2020), teacher attitudes about the necessity to teach critical thinking and their opinions about how to teach critical thinking have an effect on students preparation to use critical thinking in higher education and Cognition A Bloom's Taxonomy is a good stepwise process for critical thinking. It show the cognitive steps Creating necessary to think critically. Attitude can impact fair-mindedness and a willingness to learn and Am— reflect critically on the assumptions held. Critical Reflection begins with remembering at the base of the pyramid. As people reflect on their assumptions and what influences them they begin Analyzing to understand why they hold those assumptions. Then they can seek out resources to confirm or challenge those assumptions. Once they have new information based on research they can apply / Applying that information to their assumptions. The next step would be to analyze and evaluate the / Undersending assumptions and see if they still hold. Finally, they can replace assumptions that are invalid with 4 new assumptions and begin the process again. / Remembering References Brookfield, S. (1995). Becoming a Critically Reflective Teacher. Emotion, as well as cognition and behavior are components of attitude (Rashid & Qaisar, 2017). Further, according to Brookfield (1995), critical reflection allows a teacher to integrate their emotional state with reason and research which is essential to examining and challenging assumptions. Brookfield (1995) explains that understanding and analyzing the emotions that underpin assumptions frees the thinker to more clearly evaluate those assumptions.
