1 Professor Bianca Nightengale-Lee Intro to Teaching Critical Reflection Blog 1 I agree with the question “ How can I make some students feel more comfort within the classroom? How can I get students to open up when they're struggling or not understanding something?” I agree with this statement because it's crucial to ensure students feel comfortable. This makes them feel protected and welcomed. How are you supposed to pay attention to the teacher if you are not relaxed in the environment? A safer and more welcoming setting for your children will improve the learning environment. A classroom that has been decorated is an illustration of how to make the environment friendly for students. You may put inspirational statements in the classroom, and even letting students pick the decor can demonstrate how much you care. The reason schools are becoming unsafe puzzles me. It is disheartening to consider the possibility that while you are instructing your class, you may be informed that something dangerous is going on inside or outside the building. Teachers are under a lot of strain because each one of them must take charge of several children. Considering all they do, teachers do not receive adequate compensation. They are putting their lives in danger, devoting time to passing on knowledge, and putting up with some of the most harsh children ever. Today's environment is characterized by disrespectful children and parents, school shootings, and an increasing number of young people struggling with mental health difficulties. These factors have led to the current teacher shortage.
2 Taking up teaching is one of the best things you can do to help. The role of teachers is crucial at this time. In addition to being educators, teachers also act as parental figures, mentors, and role models. They have a profound effect on the lives of the students. Fostering their development, encouraging them to take risks and build confidence, all while reassuring them that although things aren't perfect in their daily lives right now, they will eventually become better. One of the first role models for the following generation is the teacher. Success starts in the classroom. I would discontinue mandating teachers what they can and cannot teach if I were in control of education in the state of Florida. If it is appropriate, I will let them freely instruct their class. The ideal teaching strategy for a classroom is only known by the instructor. Due to the limitations imposed on teachers, kids are not interested in learning new things. Students would benefit from this and be more engaged in the classes once teachers are free to create their own curriculum. Stop forcing kids to enroll in elective classes if they don't want to is another thing I would modify. Many students enjoy working, and occasionally they must work, taking unnecessary classes reduces their free time.
